It has been five years since Detroit antiquarian bookslinger and hip hop emcee, Doc Waffles released his last record, titled Golf View Drive. His new album titled Seizure Suit Farms features beats from Eddie Logix and Sheefy McFly, a collaboration with SelfSays, and includes esoteric references to Jurassic Park, 19th Century Norwegian crime novels, oral hygiene, the emotional health of pop icons, and the feeling of a brand new pair of socks. The EP will serve as a prologue to the much anticipated How To Shoot Quail LP due to release this fall.

Posting this on the strength of the SelfSays feature alone, but Doc Waffles seems to have some interesting content on his new EP. He also kind of sounds like Paul Barman's cooler, less annoying younger brother.

I thought of Paul Barman when I first heard Waffles, too! Though I wasn't so complementary as to refer to him as a younger, less annoying brother.
