As a living music-breathing entity, El Radio Fantastique's 8-piece band is a stitched together b-movie creature - part rumba band in purgatory, part cinematic chamber group, part shipwrecked serenade.
Their first single is was written by bandleader Giovanni DiMorente back in 1995. "In the literal sense it was about my time as a very small-time pop star in the late 80's - the sharks and devils I met and the choices I made. I gambled heavily with my musical integrity and lost hard. So, it's about a soul sucker that meets a chameleon - a meeting of opportunists that mesh seamlessly. In the end, if you have a conscience, somebody is left miserable... and you start again from there."
I'm loving their first single and can't wait to hear more. Take a look at all their photos on their facebook page for a better feel of the band's ethos. If they own that snail car that shoots flames out of it's feelers with the drummer at the top, I will give them all of my money.
